In the Kitchen: Christmas Cookies

Baking this time of year is pure nostalgia for me. The way the scents drift through the house, the music playing in the background, and the memories quietly unfolding with every batch pulled from the oven. Ever since becoming a mom, holiday baking has taken on a whole new meaning. I turn it into a full day dedicated to my girls - hands dusted in flour, laughter filling the kitchen, and traditions being passed down one recipe at a time.

Our family favorites always make the list: peanut butter blossom cookies, classic chocolate chip, Russian tea cups, and of course, my famous crumb cake. That crumb cake is extra special - it’s a recipe I’ve perfected from my great-grandmother, and it’s a non-negotiable at every holiday gathering. My favorite way to enjoy it? The quiet morning after, with a warm cup of coffee before the house fully wakes up.

I bake the most this time of year, and while the treats are delicious, it’s the memories made together in our kitchen that are truly the sweetest.
