Inside a Full Home Renovation: The Golden Moment Project
Some projects stretch you in the best possible way - and this one was exactly that.
While much of my work leans into warm neutrals and timeless layering, this home invited us to push slightly beyond my typical design boundaries. We embraced a bolder palette in the bathrooms and introduced clean, modern moments throughout the kitchen. The result was a space that feels confident, fresh, and full of personality while still maintaining the thoughtful, elevated everyday design philosophy that defines our work at CRD&CO.
This project was completed as a full-service interior design experience, where we partnered with the homeowners through every stage of a full home renovation and addition. From early space planning and material selections to cabinetry details, hardware, lighting, furnishing guidance, and final styling, every decision was made with intention. Our goal was to create a cohesive home that feels polished yet comfortable - perfectly suited for the rhythm of life for a young, busy family.
Throughout the home, bold color moments were balanced with timeless materials and thoughtful details. The kitchen became the heart of the home, where modern design elements, layered textures, and carefully selected finishes created a space that feels both functional and beautiful. Each room was designed to feel connected, allowing the entire home to tell a cohesive story.
For much of the design process, I struggled to find the right name for the project. Then, during one of our final site visits, my client shared that her husband was traveling to Milan for the Olympics to watch the men’s hockey team compete. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The week we photographed the home was the same week Team USA took home gold - and suddenly the name felt obvious.
It was truly a golden moment, both for the family stepping into this new chapter of their home and for the design journey we shared together.
