Everything I Loved: May Edition
May was a month of peace for me.
A lot happened behind the scenes with the business this month and while there were definitely moments that felt stressful and kept me up at night, there was also a sense of calm that came with it all in the end. Sometimes the hardest seasons are the ones that bring the most clarity and this month gave me exactly that. I am so excited to step into the second half of the year with this new mindset and renewed sense of clarity.
On the design front, we placed numerous furnishing orders for our full-service design clients and so much time went into every single selection. From sourcing beautiful custom fabrics to searching high and low for the perfect dining chairs, May was filled with layers of creativity and intention. As the years continue to pass in this design business of mine, I am realizing more and more that I absolutely love the furnishings side of the industry. It is where my creativity has really been flourishing lately and I have loved watching these spaces begin to come to life piece by piece.
On the personal front, May was the unofficial kickoff to summer here in New Jersey. Although we did not spend Memorial Day Weekend at my happy place - down the shore — we were able to slow down a bit and tackle a few honey-do list projects around the house, which honestly felt equally rewarding. I also attended my very first “Favorite Things” party, which turned into such a fun girls night. I walked away with some amazing finds including cute new earrings, delicious smelling laundry pods, and even my favorite hair product — all things I have genuinely been loving lately.
Lastly, May was full of WINNING! My CO gals both took home first place victories in their respective sports. Olivia finished her cheer season with an amazing performance on the mat and Charlotte’s softball team *finally* got crowned champions – something they’ve been deserving and most certainly earned this spring. I love watching my girls shine at what they love!
And for that, May, you were exactly what I needed.
