Project Spotlight: The Primary Bathroom at #CRDCOxItWasMeantToBe

If there was ever a bathroom that felt like a true CRD&CO. dream design moment, it would be the primary bathroom inside  #CRDCOxItWasMeantToBe. t’s a space layered with thoughtful details and designed to feel like the ultimate retreat from everyday life.

From the very beginning, we envisioned this space feeling like an experience the moment you stepped inside — classic, elevated, and deeply personal. A room that instantly slows you down after a long day and quietly reminds you that home should feel like your favorite place to land.

The palette itself is timeless in all the right ways. Soft neutrals paired with rich texture created the foundation for a bathroom that feels sophisticated without trying too hard. We leaned heavily into charm throughout the design process, incorporating a classic checkerboard floor tile, handcrafted zellige wall tile with beautiful movement, polished nickel finishes, and subtle brass accents to add warmth and depth.

The end result became the perfect balance of old-world character and refined simplicity.

Early on, our client shared that she wanted the bathroom to feel relaxed, timeless, and like a true escape from the pace of everyday life. As a busy mom balancing work, family, and all the moving pieces in between, she craved a space that felt calming yet special — somewhere she could retreat to at the end of the day and fully exhale.

That intention guided every design decision we made.

Throughout the process, one word continued to surface: more.

More detail.

More texture.

More personality.

More pattern.

Not in a way that felt overwhelming, but in a way that made the space feel collected, intentional, and layered with character. We wanted the eye to continuously discover something beautiful while still preserving the softness and serenity that make a primary bathroom feel restorative.

One of my favorite parts of designing spaces like this is finding the balance between beauty and livability. The tailored lighting, polished finishes, and intricate tile work elevate the room, but what matters most is how the space feels when you are inside it.

Warm. Quiet. Comfortable.

Like a boutique hotel escape tucked into everyday life.

And honestly, when our client laughed and told us all of her best friends wanted to simply hang out in the bathroom once they saw it, we knew we had accomplished something special. Because the best spaces are never just beautiful — they create a feeling. And this bathroom feels like an exhale.
