October is always one of my favorite months. There’s so much happening around all the things I love most, and I happily lean into every bit of it. Yankees playoff baseball, Giants football in full swing, and the start of Devils hockey—my favorite of them all! Throw in Crusader softball, and it’s the perfect blend of sports craziness for our sports-loving family. There’s almost always a game on, a practice to get to, or someone cheering a little too loudly. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The air gets crisp, the days get a little shorter, and I’m back in the kitchen making soups. After the rush of getting everyone settled into September routines, October feels like we’ve found our rhythm. A busy rhythm, of course, but one filled with so many of my favorite things.
On the design front, we’ve kicked off several projects, FOUR of them with returning clients! That part deserves a moment. Having a family invite me back to work on another space in their home means so much. We already have a connection, an understanding of how they live, and the trust to keep building on what we started together. It’s one of my favorite parts of this business.
From kitchens and bathrooms to walk-in pantries, family rooms, and home offices, we’re tackling a little bit of everything as we head full throttle into the final months of the year. Each project brings its own wish list, everyday challenges, and opportunities to make a home feel more like the family living in it. And that’s the part that keeps me excited—the beautiful details, yes, but also knowing how much those details can change someone’s day.
I have a lot of beautiful moments up my design sleeve, and I can’t wait to see these spaces come to life over the next several months. For now, it’s a mix of floor plans, samples, client meetings, the after-school mom shuffle, and whatever soup I can get on the stove between it all.
If there’s a month that gives me a little bit of everything I love, it’s October.
